C.H.A.T. stands for “College Heights Action Team” and it is a new program at College Heights. Senior students work together with grade 9 students in a variety of ways to help make grade 9's feel welcome in the school and help build connections with some senior students. We hope this encourages them to talk to senior students if they have concerns or ask them for help if there is a problem.

The CHAT students went on a 2 day training session where we did team building activities and learned some basic skills in helping students and leading groups and activities. We plan on running a variety of fun activities with grade 9's to help them get to know each other and build school spirit. We will also be organizing grade 9 intramurals and non-competitive activities to encourage students to get involved. We also look forward to welcoming new senior students each spring so we can train and be ready for more involved program for the CHAT students next year.
