EQAO GRADE 9 MATHEMATICS RESULTS
89% achieved the provincial standard
A huge congratulations goes out to all students in the 2010 - 2011 school year who successfully completed the EQAO Mathematics Assessment. The results are in, and they are absolutely fantastic!!!! Wow!!! All of our Grade 9 Applied Math students passed the EQAO Math test. More specifically, 89% achieved the provincial standard of level 3 or level 4. Of the Applied students in Upper Grand District School Board who wrote EQAO Math, 52% met the provincial standard. College Heights students have the highest results in all of Upper Grand District School Board, at the Applied level. Way to go Huskies!

A big thanks goes out to the hard work of Ms. Jamieson who worked with the students to prepare them for EQAO. Thank you for the positive support from Administration and Program Support Services. We are extremely happy with our results, and we hope that the EQAO data will help us to continue to work on improving student learning.

Our School CheckUp
On Feb 24, 2011 a group of 12 Upper Grand District Principals and Curriculum Leaders walked through our classes to do a District Review. This was like a school checkup. They were not looking at specific subjects or teachers, but at the school as a whole, how everyone was working together, engaged in their classroom work. A few questions were asked in each class, asking how students felt about learning and whether they understood what was being taught.
As a whole, our school received a tremendously positive response from our checkup team who felt very welcome and could easily see that everyone was engaged in their work.
Way-to-go Heights!
